What jobs are available in a hotel?
To ensure that guests feel comfortable in a hotel, the service must be right in every area. That's why the hotel industry offers a wide range of job opportunities, which you can see listed here – the additional titles give you some idea of what the job entails:
In-house technician – "The all-rounder"*
In a hotel, and especially one with many guests, there are naturally little things that need to be repaired, renewed, or replaced. The "jack of all trades" changes light bulbs, touch up wall paint, or even seals bathroom tiles.
Service/breakfast staff – "The pleasure providers"*
Our "delight providers" work in our restaurants. Whether at breakfast or dinner, they greet our guests with a smile and serve them coffee or a glass of wine in the evening. They also regularly replenish the buffet or serve guests directly at their tables.
Housekeeper – "The Inspector"*
A housekeeper writes the duty rosters for the chambermaids, oversees the housekeeping department, and checks the rooms for cleanliness. Only after the housekeeper has performed the final check is a room released for arrival.
Night Audit – "The Night Owl"*
Our hotels are open 24/7, which means that the reception desk must also be staffed at night. The night auditor takes care of all reception duties at night: he makes security rounds, closes out the day, and checks out the first guests in the morning or checks in late arrivals late at night.
Cook / Kitchen Assistant – "The Food Artist"*
Some of our hotels serve not only breakfast, but also lunch and dinner. To ensure that our guests are well fed at these mealtimes, we need chefs and hard-working kitchen assistants.
Front Office Agent – "The Welcome Greeter"*
The front office agent is also known as the receptionist and is the first point of contact for our guests. They check guests in, explain the house rules, process reservations, and are available to answer any questions guests may have.
